The carrier of Starchild’s creator.
Janet Middleton is the designer and founder of Starchild, and will this year be celebrating 20 years as a shoe designer. She left school at 16 and first worked as a design apprentice for a company in Leicester. Her first job was to make tea for the other designers but most favourably sample chasing the shoes all around the factory, by this she learnt a lot about shoe making. Within 6 months Janet also knew the basics of pattern cutting and designed a range of ladies shoes. She have had many up's and down's in her career from being made redundant 3 times in 6 months to designing and making shoes for London's Top catwalks. In 1998 her priorities changed and she made a pair of baby shoes for my new son (Billy), and within months she had created a range and were selling them through various outlets in the UK.
